In a recent conversation with COPE’s El Partidazo, Gonzalez revealed that he had received a personal message from Garcia following his move, although they have not had any further discussions since that time.

“I understand the choices individuals make, but I personally would not have opted for Barcelona. While I don’t agree with his decision, I do respect it,” Gonzalez stated.

“Garcia is an outstanding goalkeeper, truly world-class, and this stature remains unchanged despite his team switch,” he emphasized.

Future Expectations for Garcia

Garcia is anticipated to maintain his position as the starting goalkeeper when Barcelona faces Valencia at home this weekend, marking the team’s first home game of the season.

“Everyone has the right to make their own life choices. Garcia is a product of Espanyol and holds significant popularity, which is why this transition has garnered so much attention.
