The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has appointed Ghanaian coach Laryea Kingston as head of all national men’s junior teams.
The two-year deal marks a major step in FUFA’s efforts to build a sustainable pathway for young talent.
FUFA Chief Executive Officer Edgar Watson confirmed the appointment in Kampala.
Kingston, a former Ghana international and UEFA A/CAF B license holder, will oversee player development and coaching coordination across the U15, U17, and U20 levels.
Meanwhile, Brian Ssenyondo will continue as Uganda’s U17 head coach until the conclusion of next month’s FIFA U17 World Cup in Qatar, his final assignment before transitioning to another national role.
Laryea Kingston is no stranger to African football. He resigned as Ghana’s U17 head coach earlier in 2024 after the team missed out on qualification for the U17 Africa Cup of Nations.
Since September 2024, he has been coaching at RPS Academies in Saint Lucie, Florida, honing his skills in youth development.
