Ghana’s Kurt Okraku Named Chair Of FIFA Anti-Racism Committee

Africa’s growing influence in world football governance continues to take shape as Ghana’s Kurt Okraku, who is the 2nd Vice President of CAF and President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), now chairs FIFA’s Anti-Racism and Anti-Discrimination Committee.

His four-year term, which runs from 2025 to 2029, represents another major milestone in his distinguished leadership journey.

In his new capacity, President Okraku will lead FIFA’s global efforts to tackle racism and all forms of discrimination, driving reforms that promote equality, inclusivity, and respect at every level of the game.

He will be supported by Mark Wade of Bermuda, who serves as Deputy Chairperson, alongside 19 other members drawn from FIFA’s Member Associations.

Okraku’s appointment highlights FIFA’s confidence in African leadership and his proven track record of using football as a powerful tool for unity and social transformation.

A product of both local and international academic excellence, Okraku holds an MBA in Football Administration from the University of Liverpool, along with qualifications in Journalism, Business Administration, and Tourism.

Prosper Harrison Addo joins FIFA Legal Committee

In another boost for Ghana and Africa, Prosper Harrison Addo, Esq, the General Secretary of the GFA, joins the FIFA Legal Committee as a Member.

His four-year term, also running from 2025 to 2029, recognizes his extensive legal expertise and contributions to football administration across the continent.

The FIFA Legal Committee, chaired by Elvis Chetty of Seychelles with Michael Llamas of Gibraltar as Deputy Chairperson, advises the FIFA Council on critical legal, regulatory, and governance matters.

Mr. Addo previously served on the FIFA team that developed the FIFA General Secretaries Handbook and contributed to drafting the FIFA Clearing House Regulations.
