Ghana Football Federation to Host Interfaith Thanksgiving for World Cup Qualification
Special Thanksgiving Services Planned
President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, alongside the Executive Council and all staff members, will organize a two-day interfaith thanksgiving ceremony to honor the Black Stars’ qualification for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup.
These thanksgiving events aim to gather football stakeholders, religious leaders, and supporters to collectively express gratitude for Ghana’s successful qualification, marking the nation’s fifth participation on the world stage and its second consecutive entry following the 2022 tournament in Qatar.
Schedule of Events
First Service
- Date: Friday, October 24, 2025
- Location: Imam Malik Hamburg Mosque, Maamobi, Accra
- Time: 2:00 p.m.
- Participants: Muslim members of the football community will join in prayer and gratitude.
Second Service
- Date: Sunday, October 26, 2025
- Location: Christ the King Anglican Church, Sakumono
- Time: 3:00 p.m.
- Participants: Christian members will also come together to express their thankfulness.
Dress Code and Expectations
All attendees are encouraged to wear white attire, symbolizing unity, purity, and appreciation as the football community celebrates this significant achievement.
The gathering is expected to include GFA President, Executive Council members, staff, and various football stakeholders as part of the initiative to foster unity and give thanks for another proud chapter in Ghana’s football legacy.
