Garcia Thrilled with Initial Season at Barcelona: A Significant Transformation

García Thrives as Barca’s Main Goalkeeper

The former Espanyol shot-stopper has firmly taken his place as the primary goalkeeper for Barcelona, contributing significantly to the team’s current lead in the LaLiga standings this season.

Positive Reception in the Dressing Room

García expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome he received upon joining the club. In an interview with Sport, he remarked, “I was embraced well. I already knew several players, particularly from the youth national team. The locker room is youthful, which made my transition smoother as I belong to that demographic too.”

Contentment and Excitement

García elaborated on his initial experiences, stating, “I was welcomed with open arms, even by those I hadn’t interacted with much before. Honestly, I am extremely happy here.”

He continued, “I came with high expectations, and little did I realize how significant this change would be for my career. I was aware that the environment would be energetic and youthful, and that’s exactly what I encountered.”

He acknowledged a noticeable shift in playing style, adding, “It was a substantial adjustment, but I feel at ease, and that’s what truly matters.”

Confidence from the Coach

García also highlighted his appreciation for working alongside head coach Hansi Flick. He stated, “He shows a lot of faith in me. Of course, he provides corrections when necessary, but for a player, especially someone joining a new squad, feeling the coach’s trust is crucial.”
