Transfer Interest Emerges

Turkish football powerhouse Galatasaray is reportedly eyeing a transfer for Manchester United’s midfielder, Manuel Ugarte.

In light of a pivotal 1-0 win against Newcastle United this past weekend, Ugarte has caught the attention of the United management, which is eager to offload the Uruguayan player.

Ugarte’s Manchester Situation

Having joined Manchester United from Paris Saint-Germain for €50 million last season, Ugarte has struggled to meet expectations and has been sidelined frequently since the arrival of manager Ruben Amorim, who took over from Erik ten Hag.

According to Turkish media outlet Fotomac and other sources, Galatasaray is positioning itself to acquire Ugarte in a loan arrangement that would include an option to buy the creative midfielder for approximately £22 million.

Competing Interest from Other Clubs

Additionally, clubs like Lyon and Napoli are reportedly interested in Ugarte, especially Napoli, which has previously benefited from United players, following the signings of Scott McTominay and Rasmus Hojlund.

Throughout the season, Ugarte has appeared in merely 12 competitive matches without contributing a goal or assist. Amorim is allegedly open to letting Ugarte leave should an appropriate proposal materialize from Galatasaray.

Positive Feedback from Teammates

Ugarte’s display against Newcastle garnered accolades, with teammates praising his performance. Bruno Fernandes described it as a “top performance,” while he received shout-outs on social media. Lisandro Martinez remarked, “this is the one I know,” and Harry Maguire chimed in with “brilliant tonight mate.”
