Rumours around a possible move to Al Ahly have intensified in recent weeks, but GAIS forward Ibrahim Diabaté insists nothing is happening behind the scenes.
The Ivorian striker, coming off one of the most prolific seasons in the Swedish top flight, found his name circulating in Egyptian reports claiming negotiations were already underway.
Those claims were dismissed first by the Swedish club and later by the player, who made it clear he has not held discussions with the Cairo giants.
“These are just rumors. Nothing is clear, there are no discussions. Very little of what has been said is true,” he told Swedish media.
Diabaté has a long-term contract, which ties him to GAIS until 2028.
“There is no agreement, and actually there are no talks. There is very little truth in the matter.”
Al Ahly are still looking for a reliable goal scorer after the exit of Wessam Abou Ali.
