Gabriel Jesus Addresses Transfer Speculations: Palmeiras Expresses Interest in His Return

Gabriel Jesus Expresses Desire to Rejoin Palmeiras

Arsenal Forward Shares Ambitions for Future

Arsenal’s striker, Gabriel Jesus, has disclosed that it is his aspiration to eventually return to Palmeiras.

Recently, the president of Palmeiras, Leila Pereira, addressed rumors about Jesus potentially reuniting with the club as he approaches the latter part of his career.

Pereira stated, “Absolutely Gabriel Jesus. And I’ll go further. Soon, you’ll be back home, Gabriel! One day you will return.”

In a recent conversation with Revista Placar, the Arsenal forward commented on the potential move, noting that while it may not be feasible at the moment, it could make sense in the near future.

Jesus Clarifies His Stance

“There has never been any communication with another club. My desire, as I consistently express, is to return to Palmeiras. Palmeiras is also interested in having me back,” Jesus explained.

“When I feel it’s the appropriate moment to go back to Palmeiras, I’ll make that decision in conjunction with Arsenal.”

He added, “However, we are discussing a player who has been sidelined for nine months and is now working hard to get back on the team. Some journalists speak without having the facts.”

“Following a complicated surgery, it is not logical for me to leave the club at this time,” he emphasized.

Recovery and Future Considerations

Jesus has been utilizing Palmeiras’ facilities during his recovery and is often engaged in friendly exchanges with his Brazilian teammates, Gabriel Magalhaes and Gabriel Martinelli, regarding the rivalry between Palmeiras and Corinthians.

His current contract with Arsenal extends until 2027, suggesting that the club is not under any pressure to part ways with him. As he gradually regains his fitness, it will ultimately be up to manager Mikel Arteta to determine whether the seasoned striker will reenter the squad or make a move to return to Brazil.
