The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the nominees for the 2025 Women’s Awards, recognizing outstanding players, coaches, and teams who have shaped African football over the past year.
The awards cover performances from January 6 to October 15, 2025, with nominees selected by a panel comprising CAF legends, technical experts, coaches, and journalists.
The Women’s Player of the Year category features an exciting mix of experience and rising stars, including Ghana’s Portia Boakye, Malawi’s dynamic Chawinga sisters, and Zambia’s prolific forwards Barbra Banda and Rachael Kundananji.
In the Goalkeeper of the Year section, Ghana’s Cynthia Konlan earns a spot among 10 contenders, including Nigeria’s Chiamaka Nnadozie and South Africa’s Andile Dlamini.
Ghana also gain representation in the Women’s Young Player category through Stella Nyamekye, while Black Queens head coach Lars Kim is shortlisted for Coach of the Year.
The Women’s Club of the Year list features top African teams such as AS FAR, Mamelodi Sundowns, and Bayelsa Queens.
The CAF Awards ceremony will take place later this year.
