Fulham Secures Signing of Man City Winger Bobb for £27 Million

Transfer Announcement

Fulham has successfully completed the transfer of Oscar Bobb, a 22-year-old winger from Manchester City, for a fee of £27 million. Bobb has signed a five-and-a-half-year contract with the club and will don the number 14 jersey.

Player’s Reaction

“It feels fantastic to be here. I had a wonderful day meeting everyone, and I’m incredibly excited,” Bobb expressed upon his arrival. He mentioned having discussed the move with Sander Berge, his fellow Norwegian and Fulham midfielder, before making a decision.

“I spoke to Sander, who is a close friend of mine, and the manager detailed the team’s playing style, the club’s atmosphere, and the squad. He seemed very pleasant, so choosing to join was quite straightforward,” Bobb added.

Career Overview

Bobb is a product of Manchester City’s youth academy, where he made 47 first-team appearances, contributing three goals and four assists across all competitions. However, since the arrival of Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth in January, Bobb had slipped down the squad hierarchy.

Manchester City is expected to keep a 20% sell-on clause as well as matching rights for any future offers Fulham might receive for Bobb.

City’s Recent Developments

Earlier this week, City manager Pep Guardiola acknowledged the transfer speculation surrounding Bobb. “I know there are talks,” Guardiola stated after Manchester’s match against Wolves. When asked if Bobb intended to leave, the manager responded, “I believe so.”

This season, Bobb has made 15 appearances for City without finding the back of the net. His last game was on December 17 against Brentford in the Carabao Cup, where he suffered an injury shortly after kickoff.

Fulham’s Current Form

Fulham has enjoyed a positive run, losing just one of their last seven Premier League matches and sitting seventh in the table after a recent 2-1 victory over Brighton. Bobb has represented Norway six times this year, helping his country secure a spot in the upcoming World Cup. He will be reuniting with compatriot Sander Berge at Craven Cottage.

The winger only featured minimally last season due to a leg injury he sustained during training in August 2024.
