Frank Supports Romero as Tottenhams Captain Amid Board Criticism
Argentina Defender Criticizes Club’s Management Over Winter Transfers
Concerns Raised on Social Media
The Argentine defender has directed his frustrations at the club’s management on social media this week concerning a lackluster winter transfer window. This marks the second occasion in a few weeks where Romero has openly critiqued the club’s leadership.
Manager’s Assurance on Leadership Role
In comments made this Thursday prior to the match against Manchester United, the manager stated that Romero would continue to serve as captain.
“Leadership encompasses many aspects,” the Danish coach shared. “At 52, I believe I have a strong grasp on what it entails. Is there room for improvement every day? Absolutely. Do I make mistakes? While not daily, it’s likely a weekly occurrence.”
“Romero, at 27, continues to evolve as a leader. He will undoubtedly face challenges, but he also brings substantial strengths to the team,” he added.
Response to Transfer Speculations
When questioned about potential interest from Atletico Madrid, the manager replied, “I cannot speak to that at all. At present, he is our captain, he has a long-term deal with us, and we have recently secured a new contract with him.”
