Frank Highlights Keeper Achievement Amidst Vicario Skepticism at Tottenham
Thomas Frank Keen on Retaining Guglielmo Vicario
Tottenham Manager’s Support for the Goalkeeper
Tottenham’s head coach, Thomas Frank, has expressed his desire for Guglielmo Vicario to remain with the team. Recently, the Italian goalkeeper has found himself amidst rumors linking him to a move back to Inter Milan. Speculations suggest that Inter may approach Tottenham next month regarding Vicario’s transfer.
Development Potential Acknowledged
Despite the recent turbulence, Frank is confident in his coaching team’s ability to help Vicario fulfill his potential, drawing parallels to their previous success with Arsenal’s goalkeeper David Raya at Brentford.
Frank remarked, “He is an excellent goalkeeper and a remarkable shot stopper who has played a crucial role for us this season during critical moments. However, like all goalkeepers, there are areas where he can further develop to improve his game.”
Focus on Improvement
Frank continued, “His distribution skills are at a commendable level, yet there is room for enhancement, and that is an aspect we are currently focusing on. Every goalkeeper faces scrutiny; early in his tenure at Brentford, David Raya also had challenges with some crosses and distribution leading to goals.”
He added, “We worked on those issues, which led to significant improvement, and he eventually moved to a club I cannot mention. Likewise, when Mark Flekken joined Brentford, he required time to adjust, which is a natural part of player development.”
Frank emphasized, “Vicario possesses essential attributes that Fabian and I identified right from the start. He has shown tremendous dedication and has demonstrated impressive skills in shot-stopping.”
