France vs Kazakhstan Live Football Score 28 Mar 2021

Kazakhstan gear up for a baptism of fire in World Cup Qualifying as they welcome reigning champions France to the Astana Arena in Group D on Sunday afternoon.

The hosts kick off their road to Qatar following some miserable results in 2020, while France could only take a point from their battle with Ukraine in midweek.

  • Artur Shushenachev has withdrawn from the Kazakhstan squad through injury. Islambek Kuat isn’t in the squad but is suspended in any case.
  • Aleksandr Marochkin and Nuraly Alip were regulars in defence during their UEFA Nations League campaign, then usually joined by a third centre-back on rotation.
  • There is no Gafurzhan Suyumbayev in the Kazakhstan squad, so Yan Vorogovskiy may have to switch over to left wing-back with Marat Bystrov coming in at right-back.

  • This is Kazakhstan’s first game of the international break after their friendly as cancelled last week. They are winless across their last six matches, though did pick up notable 0-0 draws with Albania and Montenegro in that run.

  • France slipped to a disappointing 1-1 draw with Ukraine in midweek, kickstarting their qualification campaign for the 2022 World Cup on the wrong foot. They have often flattered to deceive since winning the 2018 World Cup but they should have no problem winning here.
