Eze & Mbeumo Shine Again – FPL Team of the Week

Don’t overlook Erling Haaland’s recent performance against Aston Villa; he remains the top captain choice for this week. Despite a rare blank last week, Haaland is expected to bounce back strongly. Bournemouth has struggled defensively, especially away, conceding most of their goals on the road. The Etihad Stadium is likely to see Haaland find the net again.

With Liverpool’s current form and Aston Villa’s recent defensive display, choosing Mohamed Salah might be risky after Villa managed to contain Haaland.

The selections for the week’s team are made with current FPL prices and are designed to fit within a £100m budget as if using a Free Hit.

How Did Last Week’s Team Perform?

A defensive lineup featuring Joe Rodon (13 points) and Gabriel (9 points) helped the team secure an average of 51 points last week.

FPL Team of the Week for Gameweek 10

Keeper and Defence

Robin Roefs, Sunderland, £4.7m – vs Everton (Home)

Sunderland has had a strong start to their season in defence. Roefs leads the goalkeeper list with four clean sheets and one penalty save. Everton has struggled to score recently.

Nordi Mukiele, Sunderland, £4.1m – vs Everton (Home)

Doubling up on Sunderland’s defence may work this week. Mukiele returned 17 points in his last match and looks like a good pick.

Gabriel, £6.5m, and Jurrien Timber, £6.1m, Arsenal – vs Burnley (Away)

Both defenders remain key in a solid Arsenal back line. Burnley is trying to find goals, but Arsenal recently collected six clean sheets.

Daniel Munoz, Crystal Palace, £5.7m – vs Brentford (Home)

Munoz offers attacking threat. He has one goal and three assists and often moves forward. He faces a Brentford side that usually scores but still allows chances.

Midfielders

Eberechi Eze, Crystal Palace, £7.6m – vs Burnley (Away)

Eze is becoming a reliable midfield pick. His recent form is strong, and his price looks good against a fragile Burnley defence.

Alex Iwobi, Fulham, £6.5m – vs Wolves (Home)

Fulham has not been strong in attack, but playing Wolves gives Iwobi a chance to return points. He is involved in many of Fulham’s goals.

Bryan Mbeumo, Brentford, £8.2m – vs Nottingham Forest (Away)

Mbeumo continues to deliver. He leads midfielders in shots and shots on target and now faces a Forest team struggling for consistency.

Strikers

Erling Haaland (Captain), Manchester City, £14.8m – vs Bournemouth (Home)

Bournemouth’s weak away defence makes Haaland the standout captain this week.

Jean-Philippe Mateta, Crystal Palace, £7.7m – vs Brentford (Home)

Mateta’s shot numbers and expected goals are high. Brentford may give him good scoring chances.

Danny Welbeck, Brighton, £6.4m – vs Leeds (Home)

Welbeck is in good scoring form. Leeds struggle away from home, making him a strong budget option.

Subs’ Bench

Bernd Leno, Fulham, £5.0m, Keeper – vs Wolves (Home)

Dango Ouattara, Brentford, £6.0m, Midfielder – vs Crystal Palace (Away)

Harry Wilson, Fulham, £5.5m, Midfielder – vs Wolves (Home)

Ferdi Kadioglu, Brighton, £4.4m, Defender – vs Leeds (Home)

Total Team Cost: £98.8m
