Alan Wright in Discussions with Manchester United

Former fullback for Aston Villa and Blackburn Rovers, Alan Wright, is currently engaged in negotiations with Manchester United regarding a coaching position.

Transitioning from City’s Youth Program

After serving in the youth development system at Manchester City, Wright is exploring the opportunity to assume a similar role at Manchester United.

Expected Role

According to reports from the Manchester Evening News, Wright is anticipated to become part of the coaching staff for the Under-18 and Under-21 teams.

Wright dedicated a decade to coaching within City’s academy before transitioning to a role at a sports agency earlier in February 2024. He has a history of collaboration with Jason Wilcox, United’s football director, as they were both former teammates at Blackburn.
