Former Juventus President Cobolli Gigli: My Thoughts on Mancini Despite Personal Reservations
Mancini Suggested as Prime Candidate to Replace Tudor at Juventus
Tudor’s Departure
Giovanni Cobolli Gigli, the former president of Juventus, has expressed his belief that Roberto Mancini could be the ideal choice to succeed Igor Tudor, who was dismissed from his position at the club following a loss to Lazio on Sunday.
Cobolli Gigli’s Perspective
In a conversation with TMW, Cobolli Gigli shared his thoughts on potential replacements, stating, “Mancini is the one I would prefer, despite some reservations because he has previously held a negative stance towards Juventus. If I were to choose, he stands out as the most suitable candidate.”
He continued, “While he has never shown much respect for Juventus, his expertise in the field can’t be overlooked. Still, I should also mention that I would not consider Luciano Spalletti for the role.”
Discussing Raffaele Palladino
Regarding Raffaele Palladino, Cobolli Gigli remarked, “He has achieved commendable results, including his time at Fiorentina. Although he departed at the season’s end, I believe his exit was handled in a tactful manner, which masked the abrupt nature of his departure.”
He concluded with his assessment of Palladino, stating, “While he possesses a great deal of enthusiasm, his lack of experience makes me lean towards Mancini for the role.”
