Flick Responds to Accusations of Barcelonas Effortless Copa Journey
Barcelona Set to Face Atletico in Copa del Rey
Barcelona will be heading to Atletico tonight for the initial match of their Copa del Rey tie.
Response to Real Madrid’s Exit
When asked about Real Madrid’s elimination at the hands of Albacete prior to Barcelona’s victory against the Segunda Division team in the quarterfinals, manager Flick responded, “Talking about Real Madrid doesn’t benefit me.”
“It seemed like the appropriate reaction since we must show respect to teams from the Segunda and Tercera Divisions, which have had an incredible Cup journey,” he added.
“We encountered teams like Barbastro, Betis, and Valencia last year… It’s essential to honor our opponents. They have advanced for a reason, demonstrating their ability to defeat First Division teams. That’s the core of it.”
Flick emphasized, “My primary focus is on my club, my players, and my supporters; that’s what truly matters. Any other thoughts are just a distraction.”
Comfortable Copa Journey for Barcelona?
When asked if he believed Barcelona had an easy path in the Copa, Flick replied, “Oh? Just ask Real Madrid…”
