Rumanatu Tahiru, the head coach of the Greater Accra team, has opened up about her philosophy that has propelled the squad to an impressive undefeated streak in the ongoing Elite U-15 girls Championship, held under the FIFA Talent Identification Scheme. Following their fifth consecutive win, Coach Tahiru attributed the team’s achievements to a foundation of hard work, discipline, and strong motivation, rather than relying solely on a few standout players.

“It’s all about hard work,” Tahiru remarked. “The girls have put in significant effort over the weeks to get ready for this, and their discipline is what is paying off right now.”

When asked about the formula behind the swift progress of her team, Coach Tahiru was straightforward: “The key is motivation.” She highlighted her coaching approach, which is rooted in trust and empowerment, enabling players to learn from their mistakes on the field.

“Encourage them to have confidence in themselves and let them feel that you, as their coach, believe in them,” she elaborated. “Allow them to take risks, make errors, and then guide them thereafter. When players are given the liberty to make mistakes, they are more inclined to explore new possibilities—that’s fundamental for their development.”

Despite maintaining a flawless record with five victories in as many matches, the team is taking a disciplined approach to their preparations.

“We will not underestimate our opponents. We are committed to giving our all, aiming for another win, and then we will shift our focus to the finals,” Coach Tahiru stated, emphasizing a methodical, game-by-game perspective.
