Etta Eyong’s Future Set to be Decided in January
Levante forward Etta Eyong aims to determine his career direction during the upcoming January transfer window.
The Cameroonian player has emerged as a standout performer for Levante since his move from Villarreal at the beginning of this season.
Interest from Major Clubs
His impressive performances have captured the eyes of several top-tier clubs, including Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Spanish powerhouse FC Barcelona.
According to reports from Mundo Deportivo, Eyong intends to resolve his future in January rather than postponing it until the summer. He hopes that any club willing to sign him will finalize the deal in the winter window. Additionally, he wishes to stay on loan at Levante until the end of the season since he has already represented two clubs this season and cannot join a third due to eligibility rules.
Barcelona’s Pursuit amid Financial Constraints
Barcelona had attempted to secure Eyong’s services last summer but faced challenges due to Financial Fair Play regulations, which prevented them from completing the transfer. The club will need to monitor whether LaLiga reinstates the 1:1 financial rule in January, which would allow them to pursue Eyong again.
If this does not happen, there is a significant possibility that Eyong could sign with a Premier League team, potentially missing out on the opportunity to join Barcelona.
