Endrick Discusses Xabi Alonsos Departure While on Loan from Real Madrid

Endrick Secures Loan to Lyon Following Limited Playing Time at Madrid

A Challenging Start to the Season

The young talent, just 19 years old, struggled to find playing opportunities under coach Alonso during the initial phase of the season, participating for a mere 11 minutes in La Liga.

Successful Debut in France

Endrick has since transitioned to French club Lyon, where he marked his debut with a goal in a 2-1 victory over Lille in the Coupe de France on January 11.

Change in Coaching Staff

Shortly after Endrick’s goal, Alonso left Real Madrid by mutual agreement and has been succeeded by former teammate Alvaro Arbeloa.

Insights from Endrick

Endrick shared his thoughts with Marca regarding his recent experiences, stating, “I gained a lot from my time with Xabi in Madrid. He was an exceptional player and has a deep understanding of the game.”

He further added, “Despite my long injury period and being unable to train fully with the squad, I still derived significant benefits from my interactions with him.”

Looking ahead, Endrick mentioned, “Currently, I’m learning from Paulo Fonseca, my coach at Lyon, who is also very detail-oriented. I believe that if you maintain an open mind, you can learn something valuable from every great coach, and that is my goal.”
