Egyptian striker Amr Nasser has made history by becoming the first player from domestic football in his country to be nominated for the FIFA Puskás Award.
The Pharco forward earned the nomination for his stunning bicycle kick against Al Ahly in a 2-0 Capital Cup victory.
Nasser’s strike is included among 11 contenders for the 2025 award, which honors the most outstanding goal scored worldwide in the eligible period from 11 August 2024 to 2 August 2025.
Other nominees include Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal and Arsenal’s Declan Rice.
The shortlist also features players from Brazil, Italy, Spain, South Africa, and beyond.
Fans worldwide now have the chance to vote for their favorite strike, with the final winner decided by a 50/50 split between global votes and a panel of FIFA Legends.
Mohamed Salah remains the only other Egyptian to have won the accolade, claiming it in 2018 for his solo effort against Everton in the Premier League.
