Young Defender Speaks Out on Media Scrutiny of Vinicius

Earlier this month, a young defender came to the aid of Vinicius after the media sensationalized his comments regarding a potential departure from the club in the foreseeable future.

Media Overreaction

The media generates a lot of buzz, and you’ve created a mountain out of a molehill. He apologized, which I believe is the right thing to do. These incidents are part of football,

stated the defender.

Now, the 20-year-old center-back from Madrid has shared his thoughts on the Spanish media, criticizing their harsh treatment of star players, which he believes has become excessive.

Comments on Vinicius and Lamine

Lamine is an ordinary kid, just 18 years old. Sometimes situations are exaggerated. The same applies to Vinícius: he’s an exceptional player and a genuinely nice person, but even the slightest action can draw over-the-top criticism.

He (Vinicius) is a fantastic individual, a genuinely good person. He’s such a prominent player that when he does anything minor, the scrutiny intensifies. I think he receives too much criticism, often unnecessarily.

All eyes are on him during matches, and if you concentrate on someone with a camera for the full 90 minutes, you’re bound to catch something. The same goes for me, Militao, or Asensio. You’ll find something questionable with every player.

If we merit criticism, then it’s fair, but often it’s taken too far.

Coping With Criticism in Madrid

When asked how he handles the criticism as a defender for Madrid, Huijsen downplayed the attention and discussed how he unwinds at home.

Real Madrid is the biggest club globally, so it’s only natural that there’s extensive commentary. I don’t engage with the media. I lead my regular life, attend training, return home, and that’s it… I’m not in a relationship.

I strictly share football-related content on my social media. Playing PlayStation is my primary source of relaxation.

Huijsen feels he is acclimating well to life at Real Madrid and previously commented on the significant differences between living in Madrid and Bournemouth.

It’s a dream realized. I always wanted to play for the best team in the world. I believe I align well with Xabi’s vision and the club’s direction. I’m truly happy to be here.
