Could Sterling Consider a Move to Wrexham? Saunders Suggests Chelsea Star Might Be Lured by Documentary

Could Raheem Sterling Make a Move to Wrexham?

Former Wales and Liverpool forward Dean Saunders has proposed that Raheem Sterling might consider transferring to Wrexham.

Current Situation of Sterling

Sterling has yet to make an appearance for Chelsea this season, which has led to speculation about a potential departure in January. Many believe that such a move could be advantageous for the England international, who appears to be facing challenges in advancing his career in West London.

Transfer Speculations and Insights

During the summer, there were talks of permanent transfers to both Fulham and West Ham United for the winger, but these deals did not go through. However, ex-Wrexham manager Saunders discussed with Boyle Sports how Sterling could potentially lower his league status to join the Welsh club.

“Raheem Sterling to Wrexham? Why not? You might see some big players that have watched the documentary, and they think, ‘I’ll have a bit of that. I’d love to play for them, Wrexham.’ You might get somebody like Raheem Sterling saying that.”

Saunders expressed his confusion about Sterling’s current circumstances, stating, “He’s not over the hill. He’s a very good player.” Nonetheless, he also noted that playing in the Championship can be quite challenging.

“I’ve managed in the Championship, and sometimes Premier League players come down and play in it and they can’t believe what’s going on. We’re playing all the time and every game’s a battle… some of them find it difficult.”

Wrexham’s Position

Wrexham currently holds the 10th position in the league but is just three points shy of the play-off spot that could pave their way to the Premier League for the first time. At the age of 30, Sterling could bring valuable experience to a team like Wrexham, which is in need of seasoned players to help elevate their status.
