Tottenham’s head coach Thomas Frank is preparing for the departure of his assistant manager, Matt Wells.

According to reports from ESPN, an agreement has been reached that will see Wells take on the role of head coach for the Colorado Rapids.

Transition of Leadership

The 37-year-old Wells will take over from Chris Armas, whose contract with the Rapids is set to expire this month. Discussions regarding a new deal for Armas have stalled, leading to his exit.

Wells previously had a tenure in Tottenham’s academy before making his return to the club in 2023. He has remained with the team even after former manager Ange Postecoglou left last season.

The Rapids have faced challenges in recent seasons, managing only one playoff appearance in the past four years.
