Chris Hughton to Become Zimbabwe’s New Coach

Chris Hughton is on the verge of being appointed as the head coach for Zimbabwe’s national football team.

The experienced manager, who previously led clubs like Newcastle and Tottenham, had a year-long tenure with Ghana before parting ways with the team in January 2024.

Leading the Charge for Zimbabwe

Hughton is now the frontrunner for this coaching position.

The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) is keen to have a new coach in place promptly to ensure adequate preparation for the Africa Cup of Nations, which will take place in Morocco this December.

ZIFA president Nqobile Magwizi commented: “The recruitment process for the Warriors’ coach is well advanced. We plan to make the announcement by next Monday or Tuesday at the latest.”
