Chokri Khatoui Resigns from Stade Tunisien After Eight Months in Charge

Chokri Khatoui resigned from his role as head coach of Stade Tunisien after almost eight months in charge of the club.

The 57 year old coach joined Stade Tunisien in March 2025 and now steps away because he faces personal issues that prevent him from continuing his work.

The club confirmed his departure and acknowledged his contribution during his time in the dugout.

Club officials thanked him for the energy, commitment, and professionalism he brought to the team during his tenure.

Khatoui guided Stade Tunisien to third place in the current Tunisian league campaign, collecting 26 points so far.

His squad produced strong domestic performances and kept pace with the leading teams in the league.

Despite the positive run in the championship, the team failed to progress in continental competition and exited the CAF Confederation Cup in the second preliminary round after a narrow aggregate defeat to Moroccan side OC Safi.

Stade Tunisien lost 2-0 in the first leg and claimed a 2-0 win in the return fixture.

The victory lifted the squad but did not erase the deficit, and the club fell short of reaching the group stage of the competition.

Khatoui’s coaching career includes stints with several teams across Africa.

He led US Tataouine, Abu Salim SC, ES Metlaoui, and other sides during a long career on the touchline.

He arrived at Stade Tunisien after a spell with Libyan Premier League club Al Nasr SC, where he continued to refine his tactical approach and managerial style.

Stade Tunisien now begins the search for a new leader who can maintain the strong league campaign while steering the club through upcoming challenges.

Khatoui leaves with a record that reflects stability, discipline, and the experience he gained across several football environments.
