Chelsea Eyes South American Starlet Despite Price Tag Concerns

Chelsea is reportedly pursuing another promising young talent from South America, expressing interest in a player valued at €30 million. However, the significant release clause of €100 million could become a major hurdle in the negotiations.

Recent Transfer Activity

The London club has been active in the South American market lately, having acquired players like Estevao and Kendry Paez in their quest for emerging talents.

Current Target: Ian Subiabre

According to sources from Soy del Millo, Chelsea has reached out to River Plate regarding a potential transfer for 18-year-old Ian Subiabre.

Subiabre has captured the attention of other elite clubs, including Barcelona, but River Plate is eager to secure the winger with a new contract, as his existing deal runs until December 2026.

According to River Noticias, Subiabre currently has a €30 million release clause in his contract; nonetheless, the Argentinian giants are aiming to increase this figure to €100 million.

His agents, however, are hesitant about such a high release clause, preferring a more reasonable range of €35-40 million instead.
