Bologna’s forward, Santiago Castro, has disclosed that he rejected an advance from the Saudi club Al-Hilal during the summer transfer window.

The promising Argentine player is currently the subject of speculation linking him to top clubs like Chelsea and Juventus.

Castro Shares His Decision

In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Castro stated, “They (Al Hyilal) reached out to me.”

Reasons for Staying at Bologna

He continued, “That is accurate, but I chose to remain with the aim of furthering my development and because I aspire to return to the national team, possibly fulfilling my dream of participating in the World Cup.”

Castro expressed his commitment to Bologna: “I’ve always thought about my role here. I’m pleased to be a part of the team.”

He added, “Playing football at Bologna is enjoyable. When you have fun, your performance improves.”
