Commitment to Villa
Matty Cash, the Aston Villa right-back, has revealed that he received two transfer proposals during the summer transfer window but ultimately decided against leaving the club.
Recent Contract Extension
Just two weeks ago, the Poland international signed a new contract with Aston Villa, showing his dedication to the club’s future.
Cash’s Comments
I received two offers from various teams over the summer, but my focus remained on Aston Villa,
Cash said during a recent conversation.
My top priority was to continue my journey here. I’ve invested a lot of time and effort into developing as a player at Villa, and I believe there is still much more potential to unlock.
When the manager and I spoke over the summer, I made it clear that I wanted to remain and keep progressing. I feel I’ve found a good rhythm this season, and I was happy when they offered me a new contract.
At the end of each season, we usually have a discussion, and the manager asked me about my feelings towards the club and expressed his desire to keep me.
Although I had a few years left on my previous contract, it was a moment to think about renewing or exploring other options.
After an open and sincere conversation with the manager, I shared my strong desire to stay. This club is fantastic, and I genuinely feel at home here.
I own my house in the area and wanted to secure my future with the club. The discussions about a new agreement had been ongoing for several months before the deal was finalized, but I never seriously considered leaving. I’m settled here.
I share a good rapport with the manager. While we do not speak often, our one-on-one talks are meaningful, and his support played a big role in my decision to stay.
It is an honor to play for such a strong club, and having a capable manager behind me is an important factor in my choice.
