Fabio Capello Expresses Support for Igor Tudor Following Dismissal
Capello’s Reflections on Tudor’s Exit
Former Juventus manager Fabio Capello has expressed empathy for Igor Tudor after his recent termination. In comments made to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Capello also mentioned that Luciano Spalletti, the ex-Italy and Napoli coach, could be a suitable candidate for the position.
Capello remarked, “The initial error was the lack of genuine confidence from the club. Only later did they officially back him and extend his contract.”
The Challenges Facing Serie A
In his analysis, Capello emphasized the changing landscape of Italian football. He stated, “It’s not as it once was. Nowadays, top-tier players seldom opt for Serie A, compelling clubs to depend on reinforcements who struggle to cope with the demands of leading teams.”
Spalletti’s Potential as a Successor
Regarding Spalletti, Capello noted, “He is a skilled and seasoned coach who has managed prestigious clubs and achieved success.” He also added, “His charisma is impressive, and interestingly, one of the most encouraging elements is the current league standings, considering that the Bianconeri are six points behind the leaders.”
