CAF Women’s Champions League To Begin In Egypt
The 2025 edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League officially kicks off this weekend on Saturday, November 8.
Opening the tournament will be 15 de Agosto de Akonibe of Equatorial Guinea, who take on USFAS Bamako from Mali on Saturday afternoon. Both teams are appearing at this stage for the first time.
15 de Agosto arrive in Egypt after a commanding qualification campaign in the UNIFFAC Zone, where they recorded three victories in four matches and ended with a remarkable goal difference of +15.
On the other hand, USFAS Bamako topped the WAFU Zone A qualifiers, also winning three of four games to book their place among Africa’s elite.
Later in the evening, focus will shift to Ismailia’s Suez Canal Stadium, where Egyptian champions Masar SC face AS FAR of Morocco.
Masar will be seeking to build on their semi-final finish from last season, while AS FAR, winners of the 2022 edition and runners-up in 2024, are eager to reclaim continental dominance.
These two sides have a bit of unfinished business as AS FAR knocked Masar out in the semi-finals last year with a narrow 2–1 win, a result the Egyptians will be desperate to avenge on home soil.

The CAF Women’s Champions League winner will earn the right to represent Africa in the final qualifying round of the 2026 FIFA Women’s Club World Cup, where they’ll face Wuhan Chegu Jiangda WFC of China for a place at the main event in London early next year.
