Morocco’s U20 national team has been honoured as the CAF Men’s National Team of the Year after a standout 2025 campaign.
The young Atlas Lions earned the award on the back of their historic triumph at the FIFA U20 World Cup, where they clinched the title for the first time.
Their victory in Chile also marked the first time an African side has lifted the U20 global crown since 2009.
The team outperformed Morocco’s senior national side and Cape Verde in the final shortlist for the award.
Morocco’s U20 team stood out after delivering one of the most memorable performances.
The players are expected to graduate to the senior team, as the North African side hope to extend their rich vein of form.
