Yassine Bounou has been crowned as the Best Goalkeeper at the 2025 CAF Awards.
The Moroccan shot-stopper, now with Al Hilal, has remained one of the most reliable players in African football.
His performances in 2025 continued the high standards that have defined his rise, both at club level and with the Atlas Lions.
Bounou played an important role in Morocco’s recent success, contributing to their impressive push toward the FIFA World Cup 2026.
His consistency also helped the national team strengthen their position as Africa’s top-ranked side, climbing to 11th in the FIFA standings.
This recognition comes two years after he first won the award in 2023.
He beat Munir Mohamedi, who was a central figure in RS Berkane’s CAF Confederation Cup triumph and their first Botola Pro title and also South Africa’s Ronwen Williams after guiding Mamelodi Sundowns to another Premiership crown and leading Bafana Bafana to World Cup qualification.
