BVB Bundesliga Debut: Is He Schröder's Initial Signing from Gladbach?

Gladbach’s New Sporting Director Eyes Offensive Reinforcements

Potential Signing on the Horizon

Recently, Rouven Schröder shared his commitment to keeping the team’s options open regarding new players. The newly appointed sporting director for Gladbach had hinted primarily at defensive reinforcements. However, it appears that his inaugural transfer might involve an offensive player.

Interest in Marco Pašalić

Reports from a prominent sports broadcaster indicate that the club is keen on acquiring Marco Pašalić, a right winger familiar with the Bundesliga.

In 2022, the now ten-time Croatian national team member made his debut in Germany’s premier league with Borussia Dortmund, albeit without making a significant impact, as he only managed a brief ten-minute stint as a substitute.

Success in MLS

Instead of continuing his journey in Germany, Pašalić has found success playing for HNK Rijeka back in Croatia before moving to the MLS with Orlando City SC last February. The Florida-based team invested 4.8 million euros for his talents, which appears to be a wise investment.

Throughout 33 matches, the Karlsruhe native has netted twelve goals and provided five assists. This impressive performance has reportedly caught the attention of Gladbach.

The Timing of a Possible Transfer

Could Pašalić be the first player to join Schröder at Gladbach this winter? The conclusion of the MLS season in December might facilitate this move. Although he has a contract that extends until at least 2027, there is a possibility that he could be persuaded to make a return to the Bundesliga.
