Burnley Agrees to New Contract for Edwards While Loaning Out Derbyshire
Burnley Football Club’s Recent Activity in the Transfer Market
Burnley has been active in the player market over the past week, making significant moves to enhance their squad.
Braidin Derbyshire Joins 1874 Northwich
Teenage talent Braidin Derbyshire has been loaned out to Midland Premier League club 1874 Northwich for a work experience period. At just 17 years old, he has had the opportunity to play twice for Burnley’s U21 team this season.
Connor Edwards Extends Contract
In another exciting development, goalkeeper Connor Edwards has committed his future to Burnley by signing a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2028. This season, he has also received a call-up to the England U19 squad.
Edwards expressed his happiness about the new contract and said, “I’m over the moon; it’s been a dream of mine since I was a little boy playing football in the back garden with my brother.”
He continued, “It’s a proud moment for my family too, especially being at a club like Burnley. I’m fortunate enough to be in and around the first team environment every day, and that’s been great for my learning. We had a great season overall with the U18s last season too, and hopefully, I can keep improving.”
