Bundesliga Clubs Shine in Deloitte’s 2026 Money League
Overview of Rankings
Deloitte has unveiled its Money League standings for 2026, highlighting three clubs from the Bundesliga that have secured places among the top 20.
Revenue Growth
The leaders of the Bundesliga reported a staggering revenue of €861 million for the 2024/25 season, marking a substantial 12% increase from the previous year. This surge in revenue can largely be attributed to their involvement in the Club World Cup, enabling them to ascend two spots in the rankings compared to last year.
Breakdown of Revenue Sources
Bayern Munich’s financial success is primarily fueled by commercial partnerships, amounting to €461 million. Their broadcast income is also impressive, totaling €252 million.
However, it is noteworthy that their overall revenue experienced only a modest growth of 3% from last season, with a decline in commercial income dropping from €215 million to €209 million.
Performance of Other Bundesliga Teams
Borussia Dortmund recorded total revenue of €531 million for the year 2024/25.
In a surprising twist, Stuttgart has made a return to the Money League for the first time since the 2009/10 season, achieving a remarkable 79% increase in revenue over the past year. This led them to achieve a revenue of €296 million, bolstered by significant growth in broadcast earnings (from €51 million to €121 million) due to their participation in the Champions League last season, as well as a rise in matchday revenue, which escalated from €37 million to €70 million following the renovation of their stadium.
This impressive performance has positioned Stuttgart ahead of well-established Premier League clubs like West Ham, Brighton, and Everton.
Notable mentions
Eintracht Frankfurt is the only other Bundesliga team to make it into the top 30 of the Money League, finishing just outside the top 20 in 21st place with a revenue of €269.9 million.
