Sebastian Schindzielorz Relieved of Duties

The recent decline in performance at VfL Wolfsburg has now led to the dismissal of sports director Sebastian Schindzielorz, following the earlier departure of coach Paul Simonis. The club confirmed this decision through an official press release.

Schindzielorz had been serving as the sports director for the Wolves since February 2023.

Interim Leadership and Future Plans

Peter Christiansen will step in temporarily to perform the responsibilities of the role. “On behalf of the supervisory board, we extend our gratitude to Sebastian Schindzielorz for his dedication and loyalty to the club. Peter Christiansen will assist us in identifying an appropriate replacement,” stated Dr. Sebastian Rudolph, chairman of the supervisory board.

Potential Successors Under Consideration

As reported by ‘Sport BILD’, the Lower Saxony club is exploring the possibility of bringing in distinguished candidates to fill the vacated position. Names such as Christoph Freund from FC Bayern and Sebastian Kehl from Borussia Dortmund are under consideration. Both are highly regarded within the Bundesliga, known for their extensive networks and significant expertise in team development.
