David Weir Steps Down as Technical Director of Brighton

David Weir has departed from his role as the technical director at Brighton.

The Scottish professional had been serving in this position since 2022, having initially joined the club at the Falmer stadium in 2018.

Comments from Club Leadership

Brighton’s chairman, David Bloom, addressed the situation: “David has played a significant role in our club’s progression, but we are now looking to bring in new leadership and a fresh approach to our technical department. I extend my gratitude to David for his contributions and wish him success in his future endeavors.”

In addition, Paul Barber, the chief executive and deputy chairman, remarked, “Working alongside David over the last eight years has been a pleasure. I truly value his dedication and the efforts he has put forth during this time. I wish him all the best moving forward.”

Barber will maintain oversight of all technical matters at the club as they navigate through this transition, collaborating with the current senior team until a new technical director is appointed.
