Brentford boss Andrews explains dealing in Dasilva

Brentford Secures New Deal for Josh Dasilva

Brentford has officially signed Josh Dasilva to a new contract.

After being without a contract since the conclusion of the previous season, the midfielder has been on a recovery path following a knee injury he sustained in February 2024.

Contract Details and Announcement

Due to his recent advancements in recovery, Brentford has given Dasilva, aged 27, a contract that runs until June, with an additional option for another year. This new arrangement was revealed just ahead of Saturday’s impressive victory against Liverpool.

Manager’s Insights

Brentford’s manager, Keith Andrews, expressed his eagerness to finalize the deal, highlighting the importance of Dasilva to the team. He stated, “I’ve been eager to get this sorted and have had conversations with Phil Giles about it, emphasizing how crucial Josh is to our group.”

Andrews further elaborated, “He’s someone I envision as a key player in the future direction of the club and in the important steps we are undertaking.”

He added, “Josh has a deep understanding of Brentford Football Club and is an intelligent young individual who genuinely cares about the club – we mustn’t overlook that. However, our main goal is to get him back on the pitch because if he returns to his previous form, he will be a significant asset for us.”
