Benzemas Future: Could Zidane Coach France and a Lyon Comeback Be in Play?
Benzema Reflects on Zidane’s Potential Coaching Future and His Own Career
Karim Benzema has achieved remarkable success during his time at Real Madrid with Zinedine Zidane at the helm.
Zidane and the Future of French Football
When asked about the possibility of Zidane replacing Didier Deschamps as the head coach of the French national team, Benzema shared his thoughts in an interview with L’Equipe: “The future is uncertain… It’s hard to predict what will unfold. If Zidane decides to become the coach of France someday, I hope he finds great success. Regardless of whether it’s with a club or the national team, he will triumph.”
“Wherever he opts to go, he will emerge victorious. That’s simply how it is.”
Benzema’s Career Aspirations
With his contract set to expire in June, Benzema was further questioned regarding his future intentions.
He stated, “I don’t have a particular club in mind. I have a couple of years of football left, and I’m ready to give it my all. In my mind, I’m still 20. I’m competing at the top level and eager to fight for the next two years.”
Thoughts on a Possible Return to Lyon
On the topic of potentially returning to Olympique Lyonnais, Benzema remarked: “It’s challenging to say ‘I’d like to return,’ especially since I left such a positive legacy. The future is unpredictable. It’s not about fear; sometimes it’s better to let things lie as they are.”
“I could offer support to the club in different ways… but regarding playing? I’m uncertain.”
