Luis Diaz Reveals Talks with Barcelona Before Joining Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich’s winger Luis Diaz has disclosed that discussions took place with FC Barcelona prior to his departure from Liverpool earlier this summer.

The Colombian player was on the verge of signing with the Catalan club; however, Barcelona deemed Liverpool’s asking price to be excessive.

Diaz Reflects on His Decision

“I can confirm there were discussions, as is often the case during the transfer window,” Diaz shared. “Such negotiations are a natural part of the market. I am at peace with the choice I made. It was essential for me to assess my future objectively.

“I am now part of an outstanding team in a prestigious league. The environment here feels like a family.”

Diaz made the move from Liverpool to Bayern Munich for a reported transfer fee of €75 million.
