Bayer Leverkusen Sets Sights on Bundesliga Glory
Ambitious Goals for the Club
Bayer Leverkusen’s CEO, Fernando Carro, has outlined ambitious plans to reclaim the Bundesliga title within three years, marking an intention to capitalize on their recent advancements in the 2023/24 season.
Target Year for Success
In a discussion with Sport Bild, Carro shared that the club aims to hoist the championship trophy again by 2028 or 2029.
Current Standings
Currently, Leverkusen finds themselves in sixth place, trailing 22 points behind the league leaders, Bayern Munich, who maintain an 11-point advantage over Borussia Dortmund.
Acknowledging the Competition
Carro expressed his frustration regarding Bayern Munich’s dominance in the league, stating, “It hurts to see Bayern hold such a strong position in the league.”
Financial Realities
He acknowledged the disparity in financial resources, noting, “They operate with a budget three times larger than ours. Despite that, Bayern has achieved a great deal through consistent hard work over the years. Nevertheless, we must strive to challenge them. We managed to do so successfully in 2024.”
