Bayer Leverkusen’s Aspirations for the Bundesliga

A Promising Future

Bayer Leverkusen recently secured their first Bundesliga title of the 2023/24 season, and the club’s CEO, Fernando Carro, is focused on repeating this success in the near future.

Vision for the Next Titles

In an interview with Sport Bild, Carro expressed his ambition for the club to lift the prestigious Bundesliga trophy again by “2028 or 2029.”

Current Standing in the League

However, Leverkusen currently faces challenges, occupying the sixth position in the league, with a significant 22-point gap behind the leaders, Bayern Munich, who maintain an 11-point advantage over their closest rival, Borussia Dortmund.

Challenges with Dominance

“I find it frustrating that Bayern has such a strong hold over the league,” Carro confessed.

Competitive Spirit

“Admittedly, they operate with a budget that is three times larger than ours, and they have accomplished a lot over the years. Yet, we must strive to pose a challenge to them. We managed to do that in 2024.”
