Barcelona Chief Deco Addresses January Transfer Plans

Barcelona’s director Deco has indicated that the club is not expected to make significant roster changes during the January transfer window.

No Immediate Transfers Predicted

Deco emphasized that the team would only consider new signings if a player is sold during the winter transfer period.

He mentioned in an interview with AS: “Currently, I don’t see a pressing need for the upcoming January transfer window. At this moment, no player has indicated a desire to leave.”

Deco also shared his thoughts on young talent Lamine Yamal, stating: “We often tend to emphasize individual performances, but it is ultimately the team that achieves victory.”

He added, “We’re dealing with a very mature individual, a unique talent who has the potential to shape an entire era. It’s important for us to allow him the space he needs.”

Regarding comparisons to Lionel Messi, Deco remarked, “The situations are not the same; Messi joined a team that was already successful, filled with players in their mid-20s, which allowed for a more gradual and natural development.”
