Sergi Busquets has made the announcement that he will retire from professional football at the conclusion of the MLS season.
The former captain of Barcelona is currently in his third season with Inter Miami.

At 38 years old, Busquets expressed on social media: “I believe the moment has arrived to bid farewell to my career as a professional footballer. It has been nearly two decades of living this remarkable journey that I’ve always aspired to.”
“I retire feeling very happy, proud, and fulfilled, and above all, I am grateful. Thank you all immensely, see you soon.”
Achievements and Legacy
During his time at Barcelona, the midfielder secured 32 significant titles over 18 years, including nine La Liga championships and three Champions League trophies.
He also earned 143 caps representing Spain and was part of the national team that triumphed in the 2010 World Cup and the 2012 European Championship.
