Barcelona Icon Sergi Critiques Vini Jr: A Poor Role Model for Kids

Barcelona legend Sergi takes aim at Vini Jr: Not a good example for children

Sergi Barjuan Critiques Vinicius Junior Before El Clasico

Barcelona icon Sergi Barjuan has expressed his views on Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior as the much-anticipated El Clasico approaches this weekend.

Concerns Over Vinicius Junior’s Influence

While acknowledging Vinicius Junior’s immense talent, Barjuan emphasized that the Brazilian player’s behavior sends a negative message to young fans. He articulated his concerns clearly during an interview with Marca.

“He’s an exceptional player. However, I believe his actions don’t present a good example for kids,” Barjuan remarked. “For the youth, witnessing Vinicius, with all his skill and expertise, is not necessarily a constructive influence on the future of soccer for children.”

Reflections on Barcelona’s Postponed Match

Regarding the cancellation of Barcelona’s match against Villarreal in Miami this week, Barjuan shared his thoughts: “We’ve seen other games successfully played outside of Spain, such as the Super Cup.”

“Ultimately, as the Rayo coach (Inigo Perez) pointed out, you find yourself in a circus and must choose whether to disengage or become part of it. If you choose to disengage, that’s your decision; if you remain involved, you need to accept certain realities.”
