Barcelona Develops Strategy for Gavis Comeback to the Game
Gavi’s Recovery Update: Progressing Toward Team Return
Dual Training Sessions Underway
Gavi is currently engaged in a combination of group and individual training as he advances in his recovery from the knee injury he sustained in August, which necessitated surgery the following month.
Positive Progress Observed
His recovery is on track, and Barcelona is already exploring potential timelines for his return to play.
Since February 20, Gavi has been involved in select group training sessions. He participates in a limited number of exercises, continuing to balance group activities with individual rehabilitation designed to address his specific needs both in the gym and on the field.
The 21-year-old from Andalusia underwent arthroscopic surgery at the end of September to repair a tear in his medial meniscus. Initially, it was estimated that he would be sidelined for four to five months, and that timeframe has now passed.
Recovery Plan in Motion
Barcelona’s management is implementing a flexible plan that adapts daily based on Gavi’s progress. They aim for him to fully integrate with the team within the next two weeks, potentially allowing him to participate for a brief period prior to the international break.
It has been emphasized that this timeline is not set in stone, as it will depend on his healing and Gavi’s motivation to return to play, but it represents the current focus of the team’s approach.
