Achraf Hackimi set to miss the Ballon D’or gala tonight

Olympique de Marseille’s meeting with Paris Saint-Germain share the spotlight tonight with football’s most prestigious individual prize, the Ballon d’Or 2025.

The timing of the Ligue 1 fixture, means Achraf Hakimi will miss the ceremony to focus on the match at the Stade Vélodrome.

Achraf Hakimi had an exceptional 2024–2025 season, starring in PSG’s historic quadruple.

The Moroccan star contributed significantly to UEFA Champions League, Ligue 1, Coupe de France, and Trophée des Champions triumphs.

The evening at the Théâtre du Châtelet begins with the ranking from 30th to 11th place unveiled from 17:00GMT.

The official ceremony starts at 19:30GMT and will be attended by high-profile figures in World football.

The programme, broadcast live on La Chaîne L’Équipe. It features speeches and the presentation of several secondary awards.

The main announcement, the men’s Ballon d’Or, is expected between 22:30 and 23:00 tonight.

While Achraf Hakimi is tipped for a top 10 finish. PSG teammate Ousmane Dembele is widely regarded as the odds-on favorite to scoop the top prize.

Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal is his main rival for the award with Raphinha and Vitinha dark horses.

Meanwhile, Liverpool and Egypt star Mohammed Salah is expected to finish in the Top 10.
