Nabil Baha Urges Morocco U17s to Bounce Back Against Portugal

Morocco’s U17 head coach Nabil Baha has urged his players to bounce back after their 2-0 defeat to Japan in their opening World Cup match.

The young Atlas Lions struggled to find rhythm in their first game, but Baha believes the setback can serve as motivation for a stronger performance in their next fixture.

Speaking at a press conference, he admitted that the loss was disappointing but insisted that it would help his team learn and improve.

“This first match did not live up to our expectations, but it will serve as a lesson,” Baha said.

“We will correct our shortcomings and come back stronger against Portugal.”

The Moroccan coach stressed the importance of mentality as his team prepares for a crucial Group B clash.

“The most important thing is to maintain a positive mindset and approach what comes next with confidence,” he added.

Baha called on his players to show pride and determination, reminding them of the qualities that earned their place at the tournament.

He highlighted that the team had already proven their potential during the African qualifiers and must now do the same on the global stage.

“We have talented players who worked hard to reach this level,” Baha said. “Now is the time to show our strength again and represent Morocco with pride.”

Morocco will face Portugal in Doha on Thursday, a match that could decide their fate in the competition.

A win would restore confidence and keep their hopes of qualification alive before the final group game against New Caledonia.

Baha remains confident that his players can rise to the occasion, showing resilience and belief after a challenging start.
