Injury Update

The promising Barcelona talent, Yamal, joined the Spain national team but was subsequently released after the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) learned that he required 10 to 12 days of rest due to an injury assessment conducted on Sunday.

Miscommunication Concerns

The RFEF has stated that Barcelona failed to inform them about Yamal’s medical status until after he was already part of the national squad.

Llorente’s Comments

In response to the situation, Llorente expressed,

I have no issues with him personally. The real issue lies with the Federation concerning Yamal. Such occurrences can happen in football.

He continued,

There is a heavy schedule of matches; clubs prioritize their players while the Federation looks out for its interests. It’s natural to have some tension since everyone wants what is best for them, especially given Yamal’s significance as a player.

According to Llorente,

The demands of numerous games and traveling can strain the body to its limits. As Rayo’s coach Iñigo Pérez remarked, anyone who wants to step away from this hectic pace is welcome to do so. It’s tough; there are many commitments. However, we must keep working and minimize the impact of these challenges while maintaining our health — that’s what matters. Anyone wishing to leave should feel free to do so. We recognize we must continue to strive, but despite our efforts, we see little change.

Llorente also mentioned,

I haven’t had the chance to speak with him, but I can imagine that dealing with such situations isn’t pleasant for a young player. All he wants is to play football. I wish he wasn’t experiencing discomfort and that everything could return to normal, but these are challenging times that I’m sure he’ll navigate with the support of his family.
